The University of Tokyo, NSK, Denso, Bridgestone, and ROHM Semiconductor announced a milestone in the joint development of "in-tire wireless power transfer technology." New NSK ball screw for next-generation, high-accuracy machine tools Here at NSK we’ve developed a new type of ball screw that exhibits reduced motion errors to deliver higher surface finish quality for machine tools used in mould and die machining and other surface-critical applications. When a ball screw reverses direction, sudden fluctuations in friction cause ‘quadrant glitch’ motion errors with two peaks, leaving streak marks on the machined surface. While it is possible to correct the first peak using software-based servo controller compensation, the second peak is more challenging. Until now. Our new ball screw stabilises drive torque and reduces friction fluctuations when reversing its direction of motion, thereby improving motion accuracy and reducing quadrant glitch motion errors. NSK Fukushima Plant – Award for Tree Planting in Fukushima Prefecture! The NSK Group has been sponsoring forest maintenance and conservation activities tailored to the characteristics of each region. As part of this initiative, seven employees from the NSK Fukushima Plant joined local officials in planting 30 Edohigan cherry trees, with each sapling already about 2 meters tall. Edohigan cherry trees are known to live for up to 1000 years. Commemorating three years of NSK Fukushima Plant continuing this tree planting activity, the team received a carbon absorption certificate from the Fukushima Prefectural Government (photo). The team was thrilled to be recognized for their contribution to combating climate change and plan to continue the tree planting on a yearly basis. #NSK #Biodiversity #Fukushima #Sakura #treeplanting
